Bluetooth devices may cease to work properly when waking a Windows Vista computer from sleep mode.

The computer may also stop working when putting into sleep or trying to shutdown or restart. The problem seems to be involved with a system that supports selective suspend if computer goes into sleep after a Bluetooth device’s power is toggled.

A hotfix has been released from Microsoft which corrects this problem. Microsoft strongly urges to only install this hotfix if the computer is suffering from this problem. To obtain this hotfix, it must be requested at the following link:

Alternatively to work around the problem, one can just reboot the computer for a quick fix if downloading the update is not available.
